Sabian XSR 14″ Rock Hats
These 14″ XSR Rock Hats deliver a heavy, powerful pairing engineered to cut through demanding volume with authority. Closed, they respond with strong, bright, and crisp stick definition ideal for tight pocket work and rhythmic precision in the mix. Opened up, they produce a loud, solid roar that commands presence without muddying other tracks—making them equally effective for layered production work and dynamic session arrangements. Built from B20 bronze using trickle-down technology refined from SABIAN’s award-winning Evolution and X-Plosion lines, these hats represent serious cymbal performance at a price designed to fit your budget without compromising on recording clarity and studio versatility.
Construction & Design
The pin-point lathing and hand-hammered construction create a refined, responsive playing surface that translates nuance and technique across all dynamics into your recordings. A medium-weight top cymbal paired with a heavy-weight bottom cymbal establishes the sonic foundation—the heavier bottom provides stability and projection while the balanced top allows articulate response that captures every detail of your playing style in the mix.
Tone & Response
The XSR series excels at delivering studio-quality sound and performance at an accessible price point. These hats excel at producing cutting stick definition when closed for controlled, punchy hi-hat work, and commanding volume when played semi-open for texture and movement. Their balanced response across closed and open positions makes them equally at home tracking drums for multiple genres without requiring cymbal swaps mid-session.
